illinois electric
cooperative
Many people in Saline County are served by the SouthEastern Illinois Electric Cooperative (SEIEC). SEIEC has a new energy efficiency program that helps you save money by using less electricity.
Their new Peak Power Rewards (PPR) Program allows you to earn credits on your next bill by reducing energy use during short periods of high electricity demand. According to SEIEC, “simple changes, like adjusting your thermostat a few degrees or delaying the use of large appliances, can put money back in your pocket while helping keep the grid reliable for everyone.” You must enroll in this program and you can learn more on their website here.
SEIEC is a “rural electric cooperative.” If you are a customer of SEIEC, that also means that you are a member and an owner of the co-op! Consider attending your annual meeting and voting in the elections for your co-op Board members.
